What we see on Raleigh roofs
Raleigh roofs run the full range. Inside the beltline you find 1950s and 1960s ranches with 4:12 pitches, original 2x6 rafters at 24 inch centres, and mature oak and pine that dominate the shade study. North Raleigh and the newer subdivisions off Falls of Neuse give steeper architectural shingle roofs with better southern exposure and far less tree cover.
The practical consequence is that two homes three miles apart can need very different designs. A shaded inside the beltline roof usually gets microinverters and a smaller array on two planes. A clear north Raleigh roof often takes a single string on one plane and costs noticeably less per watt.

Not pointless, but they change the design. We have installed on plenty of shaded lots using microinverters and a smaller, better placed array. The shade study tells us honestly whether the result is worth your money, and sometimes we say it is not.
Ten to eighteen business days is typical for a residential rooftop system, with historic overlay reviews at the longer end. Interconnection with the utility runs in parallel.
